Pinewood Pups

How to Buy Your Puppy!

Picking out your puppy should be an exciting, fun, and memorable experience!

We do not have contracts for you to fill out, applications, or home inspection requirements. We will, however, ask you some questions to help you determine if one of our puppies is a good fit for your home and your lifestyle. When you come to take your puppy home, you will receive the puppy's health record, a "New Puppy Kit" that includes food and a booklet, and the AKC or CKC registration paperwork for your puppy.

Here is the process we follow:

1. If you contact us before the pups are born: For serious prospective buyers only, we can add your name to our contact list. Just let us know via phone call, or email that you would like to be added, and we will let you know where you are on the list. It is all first come, first serve. If you contact us first, you have first pick of the litter. If you contact us second, you have the second pick of the litter and so on.

Please, do your breed research ahead of time, so you will know if these pups are the right breed for you, and please, be reasonably sure that you are indeed looking for a puppy in the time frame when they will be ready to go home.

2. When the pups are born, we will email everyone on our contact list to share the good news, and make sure all are still interested.

For those who want to stay on the list, a $350, non-refundable, cash deposit is now due to hold your spot.

Cash or Money Orders are preferred. Personal checks will be accepted for DEPOSITS ONLY.

Once we hear back from everyone that they have indeed decided on getting a puppy from us, and we have received your deposit, we will email you individually verifying your pick order, as it can change if a family drops off for some reason or another.

3. At 4 weeks: families can start choosing their puppy.

Each family will pick in the order they contacted us.

(Not to worry...we will keep everyone updated on where they are on the list, and where we are in the picking process!)

Individuals / Families have 24 hours, when it is their pick, to decide, before the next person in line is called to make their pick. (This way you have time to go home and sleep on it before making a decision, if needed.)

It is nice to start picking at 4 weeks as the puppies eyes are open and they are more active. If people at the top of the list are comfortable picking sooner, no problem, but no one is pushed to choose till the pups are 4 weeks old.

Again, this process is completely first come, first serve in the order that folks have contacted me.

Each person/family will get 24 hours when it is their turn to decide. If more time is needed for a good reason, we will try our best to work with you.

4. If you contact us after the pups have arrived:

If we have pups still available you can set up a time to come out and see the pups or choose a puppy via a picture online.

Again, all of this is first come, first serve.

5. Then we wait for these little ones to grow. During this time, you are welcome to set up a visit. The changes these pups go through, and so quickly, are amazing.

The pups must be 7 weeks old before leaving for their new home.

During the wait: We will be posting progress reports on the Puppy Gallery page, and updated (individual and random) pictures. You are always welcome to contact us with questions anytime!

6. At 6 weeks, we will contact people in their pick order to schedule their puppy pick up appointment for the following week. That is when you pick up your puppy, get the papers, and pay the balance of the price, cash or money order only please, no checks of any kind.

7. One last thing. We hope that you will send us a picture or two as your pup grows!

The health guarantee also covers any hereditary defects found in the first 12 months IF they are surgically irreparable, and would result in the euthanization of the dog. "Cover" means to reimburse you for the price you paid to us, for your dog.
